(Seattle,WA) Justin Verlander had the game under continue until the 5th inning. Everything spiraled out of control when Jack Wilson was hit by a pitch with Joel Zumaya on the mound. Wilson looked as if he was going to charge Zumaya and the benches of both teams were prepared to stampede the field. Luckily, Wilson chose the right thing and just walked to first. "Zumaya is a dirty player. I know it for a fact. He was purposely trying to send a message to me and my teammates. As far as I'm concerned all the Tigers are scum," Jack Wilson told reporters. The last game of their series should be interesting as tempers are flaring up and emotions let go.

(Seattle,WA) Von Jenkins homered in the fourth inning when the game was scoreless. Up to that point, pitching had been flawless on both sides. It's a shame the Tigers didn't have the bats today because pitching had been so good. Detroit could have won this game in the ninth. Hernandez struggled to finish the game and the Tigers got a few hits off him, but could only turn up one run.

(Stillwater,OK) The Red Raiders' offense was unstoppable in the first half with their hurry up offense. The Cowboys didn't seem to have an answer to even slow down the Texas Tech offense. However, it didn't matter after freshman Tyler Johnson stepped on the field. He was able to intercept two separate screen passes and took them to the house. Oklahoma State gets an important win with all the recruits that were in attendance.

(Waco,TX) This is the second year in a row that Robert Griffin III was injured when the Bears faced off against the Cowboys. "It was hard to watch from the sidelines today. I am a football player and want to compete with my team. I know I will be back in a couple weeks, but that just doesn't seem soon enough," Griffin told reporters. RG3 suffered a hamstring injury in a week 2 win at SMU, 52-41. Baylor team doctors say he should be able to play within the next two weeks.

The Cowboys struggled early with a couple three and outs in the first quarter. "I wasn't making good reads and second guessed myself a couple times. We made the decision to commit more to the running game and I settled down and played a bit better," Clint Chelf shared with the media. We can't emphasize enough that the game was a big win on the road for this young offense. Next week they will host the #20 Texas Tech Red Raiders with a huge group of high school studs.

(Seattle,WA) Von Jenkins continues his endeavor to be the "Deion Sanders" of his generation. He has signed a 10 year deal with the Seattle Mariners. He only seeks to get the most homeruns in MLB history. (set on fairly easy settings).

(Stillwater,OK) What a difference a year can make! Oklahoma State destroyed Mississippi today, 55-0. The stat of the game: 7. That is how many passing yards Nathan Stanley of Ole Miss managed. "The kid is a decent quarterback, but he seemed a bit rattled," Coach Jenkins observed.

While Ole Miss struggled in the passing game, the new starter of OSU was spectacular throwing seven touchdowns in the first half. "It's just one game. We need to start getting ready for Baylor," quarterback Clint Chelf comments. As great as the day was for the Cowboys, they took a major hit with an injury to wideout redshirt freshman, Kevin Johnson, who tore his shoulder and will be out for 10 weeks.

#11 Oklahoma State Injury Report (9-10-11)
PosPlayerInjury Note
WRKevin Johnson - (RS) FreshmanTorn Shoulder - 10 weeks

The biggest question going forward for the Cowboys to answer will be, which team is going to show up? They played an almost flawless game today, but what about weeks 1 and 2? AWFUL! We should have a clearer picture in the next couple of weeks.

(Oklahoma City, OK) Denver looked like they were content to just shoot threes and did not make a shot until six minutes remaining in the first quarter. Durant and Westbrook were flawless early making almost everything. The 2nd quarter was a completely different story with the Thunder cooling off shooting and Denver settling down and hitting shots. Ty Lawson had 12 points and 7 rebounds at the half for the Nuggets. Westbrook had 14 points for the Thunder. The Thunder bench didn’t provide too much, but kept the lead for a little while.
Half of the second and all of the third quarter belonged to the Nuggets. The Thunder found themselves down by as much as thirteen points with 9:20 remaining. “Coach just kept telling us just to take it one possession at a time. Get stops and get a good shot. We weren’t communicating on defense. Guys weren’t blocking out. We blew a double digit lead and were on the verge of getting blown out,” Kevin Durant tells reporters. Somehow they pulled it together sparked by a Von Jenkins block on Timofey Mozgov. “These are character building wins, but we also have so much to improve on in every aspect of the game, offensive and especially defense,” Coach Scott Brooks shared with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith. Thunder pick up the win, 92-88 and improve their record, 9-1.

(Tulsa,OK) Johnny Deaton was knocked out early in this game. The backup, Clint Chelf, stepped up and will be the starter for the following week. Joseph Randle and Jeremy Smith ran all over the Tulsa defense. "We put a good game together, but really we are already looking to next week. Ole Miss played us tough last year and we were lucky to win that game. This year, we want to make a statement," Jeremy Smith comments. Stillwater will be very rowdy this weekend when the Ole Miss Rebels come into town.

(Stillwater, OK) With the departure of Brandon Weeden, Kendall Hunter and Justin Blackmon, we knew that the Cowboys would not be quite as good offensively. OSU will be in some serious trouble if they don't figure out who their starting quarterback will be. Redshirt freshman QB, Johnny Deaton struggled against UNC's stellar defense. Joseph Randle had a minimal impact on the game, who is a redshirt freshman as well. "I understand we are young team. We have a starting quarterback and running back that are both freshman. Our team may receive some beatings this year, but we will learn from them and get better," Coach Jenkins said.
